Meet the incredible team behind Paradox Coffee Roasters, continuing with Swaroop, our new Assistant Roaster!

Swaroop brings a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience to the team, having worked across various roles in the coffee industry. With a deep passion for the craft and a calm, considered approach, he has quickly become an integral part of our roasting operations.

Get to know Swaroop below with our quick questions series.

How did you get started in the coffee industry?

I have always been a people person, and coffee naturally became part of that connection. I started out as a barista, then moved into café management, where I quickly fell in love with the craft, learning not just how coffee is made but how it brings people together. That experience deepened my passion and set me on the path to where I am today.

What do you love about coffee?

I love that coffee connects people, from the farmers at origin to the roasters, baristas, and finally to the person enjoying it. Every cup has a journey and a story behind it, and I enjoy being part of that.

Favourite coffee right now?

It is honestly hard for me to pick just one, especially being surrounded by so many incredible coffees. Right now, I am really enjoying the Ethiopia Bangi Gori Gesha for my morning pour overs, and I am excited for the upcoming release of our Colombian Sidra in December.

Fun fact about yourself?

I have a passion for photography, especially film. I have collected vintage cameras for years, some nearly 90 years old, and I love spending time in the darkroom printing black-and-white photos. There is something about the creative process that keeps me inspired, both in photography and in coffee.
