International Women's Day 2025 - Coffee Head Co

International Women’s Day Spotlight: Jacqui from Coffee Head Co

Today, on International Women’s Day, we celebrate the incredible women we partner with – café owners, baristas, and hospitality professionals who bring passion and dedication to the industry every day. We’re proud to support them and honoured to witness their success.

This year, we caught up with Jacqui, owner of Coffee Head Co, to hear about her journey, the challenges she’s faced, and the women who inspire her.

What inspired you to open your café?

Honestly, a deep love for coffee, a borderline obsession with good food, and the dream of creating a space where people feel at home.
Plus, I needed a valid excuse to drink way too much coffee every day!

What does International Women’s Day mean to you?

It’s a reminder to celebrate the strong, inspiring women around us and to keep pushing for equality – not just in big ways, but in the little everyday moments too.

Have any women in your life or career inspired you?

Absolutely! From my Mum, who supports my wildest ideas (even the ones that involve opening a café), to my amazing team who’ve been here since day one.
Also, Karen, our supportive coffee trainer, and all the fierce women in hospitality who prove daily that this industry is driven by passion and resilience.
And to every woman who walks into my café chasing her own dream – you’re all inspiring!

What’s the best part about running your own business?

The freedom to create something that’s truly mine.
I get to experiment with flavours, meet incredible people, and build a community around coffee and food.

Any advice for women thinking about starting their own café?

Do it! But do it with a plan.
Surround yourself with people who lift you up, learn from every challenge, and remember – coffee solves a lot of problems. (Not all, but a lot!)

What are some challenges that come with owning a café?

Early mornings, constant problem-solving, and the occasional equipment breakdown.
But the joy of creating a space where people feel welcome makes it all worth it.

What keeps you motivated when things get tough?

My love for what I do, the amazing customers who walk through the door every day, and the endless support from my family, team, and partner.
Their trust in me is the reason I keep going.

Thank you to Jacqui and the women at Coffee Head Co.
We see you. We appreciate you. We celebrate you.
