This exceptional lot is from Danche Village in the Gedeo Zone, just south of Yirgacheffe. This district is a hub for coffee-farming families renowned for their high-quality produce, cultivated from small plots of less than 2 hectares. Traditional cultivation methods dominate the region with coffee plants intercropped with other food crops. At the Chelbesa wet mill, cherries are meticulously selected, floated to remove low-density beans, pulped, and anaerobically fermented for 84–96 hours. After fermentation, the cherries are double-washed and dried on shaded beds for 13–15 days to 11.5% moisture. The result is a vibrant and elegant cup, with notes of nectarine, mango and bergamot.
