IWD LINDA: HECK YES!

This International Women's Day, Paradox Coffee Roasters is celebrating the incredible women we are proud to partner with across our coffee community, from café owners and operators to the dedicated women serving their communities through The Salvation Army.

At Paradox, coffee has always been about people, and today we’re shining a light on the women who lead, inspire, and power many of the spaces where our coffee is shared. They are the leaders, creators, and community builders who bring coffee culture to life every day, and we are incredibly proud to work alongside you. You are truly special to our community.

Linda is the owner of Heck Yes Coffee, with locations in Boondall and Wavell Heights. A mother of three, Linda has built a café empire with energy, humour, and heart. She’s passionate about creating spaces where community thrives, staff grow, and customers feel welcome, all while delivering outstanding coffee experiences.

Get to know Linda a little more below in our chat.

Can you introduce yourself and tell us where you work?
I’m Linda, owner of Heck Yes Coffee. I opened my Boondall store nearly six years ago and somehow thought opening a second in Wavell Heights 18 months ago was a relaxing hobby. I’m also a mum of three, 13, 11, and 8, so chaos is my baseline and coffee is essential.

What inspired you to start working in coffee or hospitality?
I love people, but specifically people who haven’t had their coffee yet and then suddenly become nice humans again. Hospitality lets you create moments for people, and I liked the idea of building a place where everyone feels welcome and slightly dependent on my coffee.

What does International Women’s Day mean to you?
It’s a reminder that women are out here juggling businesses, families, expectations, and about 47 invisible tasks and still getting it done. I’m especially proud to employ nine amazing women who show up, work hard, and support each other every day.

Who has inspired or supported you most in your life or career?
My kids and my husband. They’re the reason I push through the hard days and the reason I can’t stay at work forever, no matter how good the coffee is. I’ve also had some incredible women around me who prove you can be strong, kind, and successful.

What do you enjoy most about your role?
The relationships. Watching customers become regulars and regulars become friends. And seeing staff grow from “I’m nervous” to “I’ve got this” is honestly the best part.

What’s something you’ve learned along your journey so far?
No one actually knows what they’re doing at the start. Every mistake is a lesson.

What’s a moment in your career that made you feel proud?
Opening my second store while raising kids and running the first one. That was a real “wow, I actually did that” moment… followed quickly by “okay, now who’s fixing the fridge?”

What advice would you give to other women starting out in the industry?
Back yourself, even when you feel wildly underqualified. You’ll figure it out. Ask for help, trust your gut, and don’t wait until you feel ready because that day never arrives.

Thanks, Linda, for chatting with us and representing all the amazing women out there! Your passion, dedication, and community spirit inspire us every day.
