BOLIVIA LA LLAMA
Fincas Los Rodríguez
Owned by the Rodriguez family, La Llama farm is located in a lush mountain valley just outside of the town of Caranavi. Situated at a high altitude of 1700 MASL, the microclimate and nutrient rich soil are ideal for the slow maturation of the coffee cherries. The full coffee cherries ferment under controlled temperature and pH conditions in the family’s brand new custom-built stainless steel tanks for 72 hours. After drying for 48-72 hours, the cherries are hulled with a state-of-the-art mill. The result is a vibrant cup with tropical acidity. Experience exotic flavours of passionfruit, pineapple, with a hint of chamomile and a delightful rose water finish.
INDONESIA ACEH
Asman Arianto
This vibrant coffee from Aceh province, North Sumatra, is delightfully complex with delicate acidity, earthy flavours and sweet notes. Since 1998, Asman Arianto has been working in Aceh Tengah, where he founded the Ribang Gayo Musara Cooperative. He has enabled over 350 farmers to reinvest in their farms and families. In 2020, the cooperative built a wet mill, diversifying Indonesia’s coffee processing methods. For this coffee, the cherries are pulped, fermented, soaked, and dried at the co-operative wet mill, ensuring quality at every step. The Farmgate Initiative further supports the region by funding essential projects, helping to secure the future of coffee farming in Indonesia.
