ETHIOPIA GORI GESHA ANAEROBIC NATURAL
Gesha Village Estate
This Limited Release Gori Gesha coffee from Ethiopia’s Gesha Village Estate is an original heirloom variety that replicates the genetic diversity within the Gori Gesha forest.
This lot, 24/E-09, is grown in the Bangi block, east of the farm, named after the nearby ‘Bangi-Chichuru’ neighbourhood where many workers live. Planted with Gori Gesha coffee, it thrives in virgin forest soil, enriched with brown-red loamy soil and shaded by indigenous trees.
Processed using the Semi-Anaerobic Natural method, the cherries are carefully sorted with floaters removed, before being fermented in sealed jute bags inside a cement tank for 84 hours. Cold water is added every two hours to maintain a controlled temperature, while the tank is covered to limit airflow and sunlight, ensuring optimal fermentation. After fermentation, the cherries are sun-dried on raised African beds for 33 days, reaching an ideal 11% moisture content. The uncompromising quality at every step of cultivation and processing results in a spectacular coffee with notes of blueberries, jasmine, pink grapefruit, and a hint of cardamom spice.

This cooperative prioritises sustainability by using tiled washing channels and fermentation tanks, and recycled water to reduce environmental impact.
The harvested beans undergo sorting, pulping, and overnight fermentation, followed by washing, grading, and drying on raised tables for 8 to 14 days to achieve the perfect moisture content.
The profile of this coffee is a vibrant mix of blackcurrant, toffee sweetness, and a zesty lime finish, with a smooth body and a bright, crisp aftertaste.
